MOUND CITY, Mo. --- George W. Woods, 85, died Wednesday evening at a St. Joseph hospital.
Born and reared in Centerton, Ark., Mr. Woods moved to the Holt County area in 1928, where he engaged himself in farming. The Army veteran of World War I made his home in Mound City since 1953.
Survivors include his wife, Grace Woods of the home: two daughters, Betty Flowers and Edith Bennett, both of St. Joseph; two sons, Harley Woods, Lee's Summit, Mo., and James Woods, Mound City; one sister, Eunice White, Lyons, Ore.; three brothers, Jake Woods, Centerton, Haden Woods, Boonville, Mo., and Benny Woods, Cushing, Okla., 15 grandchildren, four step-grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and five step-grandchildren.
Services will be this afternoon at 2 at the Crawford chapel at Mound City. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.
