Dorothy June Armstrong, age 70, of Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan passed away early Friday morning, May 23, 2014 at War Memorial Hospital.
Known as June Armstrong, she was born Dorothy June Richards on June 27, 1943 in Sulphur Springs, Texas to the late Hubert Pierce Richards and Mary Ethel (Darden) Richards. On March 30, 1957, she married Leon Grover Armstrong in Corpus Christi, Texas, where he was stationed in the Navy. Dorothy loved spending time with her family, cooking and gardening.
Dorothy was survived by her children: Thomas (Mary) Armstrong of Sault Ste. Marie, MI, Richard (Jo) Armstrong of Davenport, FL, Julie Armstrong of Sault Ste. Marie, MI, and John Armstrong of Kincheloe, MI; seven grandchildren: Josh (Dutdao) Armstrong, Andrea (Kevin) Hood, Kristina (Brian) Hollister, Isaac Armstrong, Adam Jones, Alex Armstrong and Shyann Armstrong; Dirk Fluette and Tiffany Fluette and many great grandchildren. Dorothy was also survived by a brother: Jerry Richards of Corpus Christi, TX.
