William Quentein Haynes, 92, of Winston Road, died Monday, May 26, at his home after declining health.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday, May 28, 2014 at Forest Hill Memorial Park by the Rev. David Langley.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 10:45 am Wednesday at Davidson Funeral Home and other times at the home of his daughter on Lowell St., Lexington.

Mr. Haynes was born July 30, 1921 in Davidson County to Willie Dow Haynes and Maggie Kennedy Haynes. He was a veteran of the US Army, having served in World War II. He was a supervisor at Erlanger Mills and later retired from Parkdale Mills. He was a member of Pleasant Ridge Christian Church. His wife, Bernice Brown Haynes, preceded him in death, as well as his brothers, Grady Haynes and Carl Haynes; and his sisters, Clara Brown, Beth Reagan, Lois Fuller, Ruth Swicegood and Ruby Grubb.

Surviving are his daughters, Nancy Motley and husband, Ken, and Carol Townsend, both of Lexington; his step granddaughter, Miranda Rackley, and many nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
