Ruby Haynes Grubb, age 89 of Piedmont Crossing, formerly of Cunningham Brick Yard Road, Lexington passed away Friday evening at Hinkle Hospice House.
Funeral service will be held 1:00 pm Tuesday in the Davidson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Pete Bumgarner officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at Davidson Funeral Home, from 6:00 until 8:00 pm Monday and other times at the home of Myra Hunt, 1085 Cunningham Road.
Ruby was born in Davidson County August 28, 1923 to Willie Dow Haynes and Maggie Kennedy Haynes. She was a retired employee of Duracell and a member of Mt. Zion Wesleyan Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Ruth Swicegood her twin, Beth Regan, Lois Fuller; half-sisters, Clara Brown and Edna Leonard; half brothers, Rev. Grady and Carl Haynes. Surviving are; daughters, Myra Hunt (Johnny) of Thomasville and Shelia Gabard (Don) of Lexington; son, Steve Grubb of Lexington; 3 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; brother, Quentein Haynes of Lexington; very special nieces, Linda Burkhart and Kaye Blackwelder.
