Mr. James Walter Ashley died Thursday, April 19 at Magee General Hospital.
Funeral services for the 72-year old Magee resident were from the First Baptist Church on Saturday, and interment was at Magee cemetery. Mims Mitchell Funeral Home was in charge and the Rev. Charlie Weeb officiated at the services.
Mr. Ashley is survived by his wife, Mrs. Minnie Ashley; five sons, Barnie, Lomer and Herman of Jackson, and Omer and Ray of Memphis; 2 daughters, Mrs. Etheree Carr, Atlanta and Mrs. Helen Joyce Tew, Jackson; one brother, Wallace, of Tallulah, La.; 4 sisters, Mrs. Annie McAlpin, Mize; Mrs. Lela Stephens and Mrs. Mattie Puckett of Magee and Mrs. Pearlie Kirby, Lake Providence, La.
