She was born to Nicolas and Susan Bohr on September 24, 1914 in Aurora, IL.
Cecilia was a member of Annunciation Church. She was active in many social groups within the community. Cecilia volunteered at Hesed House for 20 years, until the age of 97. She loved her family and took joy in family gatherings, was a loyal Bulls and Cub fan, and was blessed to live independently until her passing.
Survivors include her son, Elmer (Jan) of Montana; daughter, Ann (James) Norville of Aurora; son, David (Connie) of Aurora; five grandchildren, John (Joanne) Diederich, Jennifer Diederich, Avery (Nicholas) Watts, Timothy (Brittany Garofolo) Diederich, Eric (Summer Zhao) Norville; eight great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Ralph (Phyllis) Diederich; sister-in-law, Marie Antoniewicz, Rosemary (Albert) Bohr, Rose (Arther) Diederich and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Elmer, whom she married in 1939; infant son, Albert; granddaughter, Melissa Norville; seven brothers, Ted, Bill, Bernard, Albert, Arthur, George, Fr. Luke Bohr OSB; three sisters, Elizabeth Frieders, Barbara Gartman, and Marie Theisen.
Visitation will be at Annunciation Church on Tuesday, May 27, 2014, 1820 Church Road, Aurora from 9:00 a.m. until the funeral mass at 10:30 a.m., Fr. Kenneth Theisen, OSB will officiate. A private interment service will be held on a later date. The family would like to thank her home care givers, Presence Mercy fourth floor staff, and Presence Hospice staff. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions in Cecilia's memory be made to Hesed House Food Ministries or the charity of your choice .
