Funeral services for Mrs. Martha Marie Whittington will be held on Saturday, May 24, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home in Marksville. Interment will be in Belledeau Baptist Cemetery with Pastor Keith Lamartiniere officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home of Marksville.
Mrs. Whittington, age 64, of Belledeau, passed away at Rapides Regional Medical Center in Alexandria on Wednesday, May 21, 2014. She was preceded in death by her parents, Dewey and Lelia Dupont Bordelon.
She is survived by her husband, Dan Whittington of Belledeau, three sons, Ronnie Abbott of Port Barre, Donnie Vercher of Port Barre, Mark Vercher of Belledeau, two step-sons, James and Jeremy Whittington of Marksville, one step-daughter, Jamie Smith of Marksville, nine grandchildren, Bryan, Jonathan, Cliff, Derrick, Ashley, Robyn, Erin, Eli, Levi, and four great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Friday, May 23, 2014 in the Chapel of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and will resume on Saturday, May 24, 2014 at 8:00 a.m. until shortly before funeral service time.
