A labourer who died while helping his employer, Henry Quartermaine, with sheep washing. An inquest found Burrage had died from natural causes from want of medical evidence. He had had two apoplexy attacks some time previously and a bottle of strychnine was found in his clothing. He was unmarried. A respected expiree, who arrived on the ‘Adelaide' on the 10th July, 1855.
