After attending the public schools, Jackie graduated from Rice High School, class of 1980. She gave birth to three beautiful daughters, Shonnda, Trineca, and Sundraih. She took pride in being a devoted mother and later on a grandmother. Spending time with her family and friends was the joy of her life. Jackie was a very hard worker and held many jobs, Whataburger being her last job before she became ill.
On Thursday, May 22, Jackie Sewell was called to her eternal rest with our Almighty God at Spanish Meadows Nursing and Rehabilitation Home in Katy. She was preceded in death by her parents James and Delphine Sewell, sister, Sharon Jones and brother, Donald Ray Sewell.
She leaves to cherish her loving memories three daughters: Shonnda Sewell of Columbus, Trineca Sewell, and Sundraih Evans, both of Houston; four grandchildren: Ja'Mauri, Asherah, Lea'Asia, and Jayvon; eleven brothers and sisters: Mary (Earl) Perrow and Lois Sewell, both of Houston, Patricia Sewell Williams of St. Martinville, Louisiana, Bertha Sewell (wife of the late Donald Ray Sewell) of East Bernard, Rosie (Willie) Seals of Columbus, Linda Sewell of Vox Populi, Price Sewell of East Bernard, Estella (Leroy) Glover of Cat Springs, Darlene (Joseph) Glenn of Katy, Lorene Hewitt and Oscar (Melinda) Sewell, both of Columbus; and a host of other relatives and friends.
She was buried at Willing Workers Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Howard Evans, Jr., Donald Robinson, Willie Seals, Derek Sewell, Marquis Sewell and John B. Stovall. Honorary pallbearers were Ja'Mauri Henderson, Oscar Sewell and Price Sewell.
