Nancy Kathryn Pfeiffer, 72, of Cape Girardeau died Tuesday, May 20, 2014 at St. Francis Medical Center.
She was born Thursday, March 5, 1942 in Kelso, Mo. to Lambert C. and Lorraine V. Dohogne Drury.
She and David Pfeiffer were married Saturday, June 6, 1964 at St. Mary Cathedral in Cape Girardeau, Mo.
Nancy was a 1960 graduate of Cape Catholic High School. She attended Washington University and graduated from Southeast Missouri State University in 1988.
She retired as program administrator for Southeast Missouri State University Center for Science and Math.
She was a member of St. Mary Cathedral, C.C.W., Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary, and Kappa Delta Pi. She served on the parish council, was Home & School Secretary, was a cantor at church, and volunteered as St. Mary School secretary. She was also a volunteer at St. Francis Medical Center and was active in Perpetual Adoration at St. Francis.
Survivors include her husband, David Pfeiffer of Cape Girardeau; children, Kimberly Smith (Phillip) of Cape Girardeau, Jim Pfeiffer (Jennifer) of Florida, Chris Pfeiffer (Lisa) of Labadie, Mo., and Kathy Pfeiffer of Cape Girardeau; brothers, Charles L. Drury (Shirley) of St. Louis, Jerry M. Drury (Kathleen) of Cape Girardeau; sister, Vicki Hahn (Ted) of Cape Girardeau; grandchildren, Caroline and Sarah Smith, Natalie and Zachary Pfeiffer, and Ian, Brennan, and Addison Pfeiffer.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Robert, Jim, and Tom Drury; sisters, Patricia Schlosser and Mary Jane Jansen Ford.
Friends may call 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Thursday, May 22, 2014 at Ford & Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel in Cape Girardeau. Parish prayers will be at 7:00 PM with Knights of Columbus Rosary immediately following.
Funeral mass will be at 10:00 AM Friday, May 23, 2014 at St. Mary Cathedral in Cape Girardeau with the Rev. Tom Kiefer officiating.
Burial will be at St. Mary Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.
