Melancthon "Lank" Wagner, 88, died Tuesday evening, December 26, in his home at 235 Park Ave., Carrollton, following a heart attack at noon of the day of his death. He had been a carpenter in Carrollton and the County until his retirement 12 years ago. He was a member of the Carrollton Trinity and Reformed Church.
He is survived by two sons, Mont Wagner of the home, Tom Wagner of Carrollton; three daughters, Mrs. Dave White of Hopedale, Mrs. Lester George and Mrs. Donald Sheves both of Canton; 22 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren; one brother; George Wagner of Scio; one sister, Mrs. Roy Shotwell of Carrollton. Funeral services will be Friday at 2:00 p.m. from the Sweeney Funeral Home with burial at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.
