She was one of ten children born to Bennett and Rena West.
Ava married Hal Arlan May 29, 1954.
She lived the last 35 years in Silsbee and was a long time member of the First United Methodist Church of Silsbee.
She is survived by her children Robert Arlan and wife Sonia Arlan, Melody Arlan Gerland and husband James E. Gerland, Ames Hal Arlan and wife Karen Arlan, Carol Arlan Colvin and husband Gene Colvin; step daughter Janie Kastner and husband Arthur Kastner; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Services to celebrate Ava's life will take place on Friday May 23, 2014 at Farmer Funeral Home at 10:00 am. Visitation with the family will be Thursday evening, 5-8 pm.
