Howard grew up in Brownsville, PA, a small industrial river town 35 miles south of Pittsburgh, PA. Up to the very end, he never stopped being an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan. He was a Navy veteran, serving in World War II, as well as the Korean War. After his time in the service, he married Margaret and had his twin children, Bonnie and Robert. He worked hard in a steel mill in the Pittsburgh area before moving the family to Los Angeles in 1961, where he worked for the Beverly Hills Postal Service for 24 years before retiring in 1985. In 1995, Howard and Margaret moved to Sacramento where Bonnie was living, and they spent the remainder of their lives there. Howard had a genuine passion for life and his family, and those who knew him will always fondly remember his sense of humor. He loved golfing with his SIRS buddies, traveling, wine-tasting, swimming, and most of all spending quality time with his family. He was an amazing father, husband, grandfather, and great-grandfather. His gentle soul will be greatly missed.
