Rose M. Sacco Cadez, 87, of Strabane passed away peacefully at 2 a.m. Sunday, May 18, 2014, in Canonsburg Hospital, following a brief illness.

She was born January 25, 1927, in Canonsburg, a daughter of the late Enrico and Maria Dinolfo Sacco.

Mrs. Cadez lived her entire life in the Strabane and Canonsburg area where she was a member of St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church and its Christian Mothers and Guild. She was employed in her youth at the former RCA plant in Canonsburg before taking time to raise her sons. For 15 years prior to her retirement in 1986, she was employed with Magisterial District 27-3-05 for District Justice Henry Mavrich. Mrs. Cadez was a 60-year member of SNPJ Lodge 138 in Strabane, and a member of the lodge's Tuesday Night Women's League, bowling for 60 years. She was a talented seamstress who liked visiting the casino, but especially enjoyed spending time with her beloved children and grandchildren.

On April 18, 1953, she married James Cadez, who passed away October 29, 1970.

Surviving to cherish her memory are three sons, James J. (Laurie) Cadez of Canonsburg, Ronald "Buzz" (Debbie) Cadez of Strabane and Jeffrey (Marcy) Cadez of Canonsburg; a brother, Mario (Betty) Sacco of Canonsburg; six grandchildren, Jason, Christopher, Jacob, Jeremy, Jonathan and Jessica Cadez; and several nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind her dear friend and sister-in-law Mary Cadez.

Deceased is a sister, Carmella Niedzwickie, and five brothers, Tony, Joe, Ernie, Paul and Angelo Sacco.

Friends are welcome 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in Salandra Funeral Service Inc., Joseph P. Salandra, owner/supervisor, 304 West Pike Street, Canonsburg, 724-745-8120, where departing prayers will be recited at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday May 21. A Mass of Christian Burial will celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday in St. Patrick Church, Canonsburg, followed by interment in St. Patrick Cemetery. The Christian Mothers and Guild of St. Patrick will recite the rosary at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home. Memorial contributions in Mrs. Cadez's name may be made to the SNPJ Scholarship Fund, 247 West Allegheny Road, Imperial, PA 15126.
