Marla Williamson, 63 of Webster, died on Sunday December 29, 2013 at Aberdeen Health and Rehab. Mass of Christian burial will be at 10:30 Friday January 3, 2014 at Christ the King Catholic church in Webster. Burial will be at the Webster cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Thursday from 2-4, then continuing at the church until 8pm, with a 7pm Rosary.
Marla Rae Grimes was born on October 4, 1950 to Irwin Roy and Marlene Herr Grimes at the Peabody hospital in Webster. She was baptized and confirmed in the catholic faith at Lily. She grew up in Lily, attended grade school there, began high school in Bristol and graduated from Bradley High School in 1968. She then attended Watertown Area Vocational Technical Institute where she received her Cosmetology Degree. After managing her own shop in Watertown for a few years she moved to Webster in the early 1980's. She was a supervisor for Dakotah, Inc. for over twenty years. She was united in marriage to Steven Williamson on May 25, 1990. After their marriage the couple continued to make their home in Webster. After Dakotah, Inc, she began working for Twin City Fan in Aberdeen where she was a production scheduling manager. In 2005 she worked for Pizza Hut in Webster until her health began to fail. She entered Aberdeen Health and Rehab in April 2013.
Marla was an avid Elvis Presley fan. She also enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping and spending time with her family. She passed away on Sunday December 29,2013 at Aberdeen South Dakota at the age of 63 years, 2 months, and 25 days.
Survivors include her husband Steve of Webster, a daughter Theresa Ann (Rick) Muth of Humboldt, SD; four brothers, Irlyn of Spokane, Wa; Austin (Marion) and Terry Grimes, both of Webster; and Randy (Dawna) of Watertown, SD; three sisters, Carla (Lonnie) Gross of Gillette Wy.; Lori (Scott) Cunningham of Aberdeen, SD; and Lisa Hirsch of Rapid City SD; three grandchildren and one great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents.
