Bonieta Marie Flannery was born on February 21, 1943, in West Aliquippa, Pennsylvania, to parents, John and Mary Sercel. Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Leonard Flannery, whom she married May 30, 1970. Len passed away in October 2003.

She has four surviving children, Theresa, Danny (and Diane) Flannery, of Tulsa; Susan (and Scott) Starns; and Lisa (and Jason) Ogilbee. She is also survived by her siblings, John, of Etheridge, Tennessee; and Jeannie and Kathy Sercel.

Bonnie was a member of the St. John the Baptist Catholic Church since moving to Edmond in 1977 and actively participated in a Bible study group with her dear "church ladies." Bonnie worked for 30 years for the Edmond Public Schools in various roles. In her retirement, she enjoyed time with her six grandchildren, who were her little lights, Rachel Flannery, Sophia Starns, Carson Ogilbee, Luke Ogilbee, Simon Starns, and Gavin Ogilbee. After retiring, she continued to demonstrate her commitment to her Catholic faith and education as chairman of the St. Elizabeth Ann Seton School Advisory Committee.

Funeral services were held at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church on May 16, 2014, with interment at Memorial Park Cemetery.
