He was born Sept. 28, 1928, in Hornell and had been employed at Jack's Place in Dansville. Mr. Boerner was a veteran of World War II and a member of Daniel Goho American Legion Post and Frank Casbolt Memorial Post of Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was a former member of Dansville Moose Lodge and the Dansville, Atlanta and Wayland Rod and Gun clubs.
Surviving are his wife of 33 years, Veda Burns Boerner; a daughter, Carla Dain of Honeoye Falls; a son, Gerry of Lima; a brother, LeRoy of Hornell; four grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
A service was conducted Monday morning in the Chamberlin Funeral Home. Burial was in Greenmount Cemetery. (Genesee County Express, July 17, 1986, p4)
