Obituary for Nina Owens
The funeral service for Nina Lea Owens, 42, of Anniston, will be held on Friday, March 28, 2008 at 2:00 PM at K.L. Brown Memory Chapel with Jim Harrington and Dennis Vinson officiating. Interment will follow on Saturday, March 29, 2008 at 10:00 AM at Fairview Cemetery in Bowling Green, KY. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 6 �" 8 PM at the funeral home. Ms. Owens died March 25, 2008 at NE Alabama Regional Medical Center. A native of Little Rock, Arkansas, Ms. Owens was the Assistant Manager at The Peerless in Anniston. She was a 1983 graduate of Walter Wellborn High School. A loving and wonderful mother, she was a local, hometown star. She loved her dogs and enjoyed fine foods. Above all, she was a Christian and enjoyed a relationship with Jesus Christ. Ms. Owens is survived by her daughter, Julia Anne Harkins of Anniston; sisters and brothers-in-law, Tina and Dennis Vinson of London, Arkansas and Rina and Stanton Dixon of Ashdown, Arkansas; her companion, Scott Harkins; her best friends, Kristy and Scott Farmer of Anniston; three nieces; and one nephew. Pallbearers will be Scott Farmer, Jeff Howard, Mike Denham, Van Heibel, Jimmy Higgins, and Jordan Vinson. Honorary pallbearers will be friends and family, Dennis Vinson, and all local musicians. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the American Cancer Society, 1100 Ireland Way, Suite 201, Birmingham, AL 35205 (www.cancer.org).
