Rita M. Fink, 92, of Williamsport, died Wednesday, May 14, 2014, at her home where she was born.

Rita was born in Williamsport on March 8, 1922, the daughter of Daniel E. and Helen Mitsdarfer Bertin.

She was a lifelong member of St. Boniface Roman Catholic Church and was an active volunteer at many of the church functions.

A consummate homemaker, she worked later in life at the former L.L. Sterns and Son's department store as well as volunteering at the James V. Brown Library for many years.

Rita enjoyed needlepoint, embroiderey, hooking rugs, making Christmas cookies during the holidays and was know for her grape jam.

Rita was an avid reader; she enjoyed listening to local radio programs. A mother to all, she loved children, especially enjoying her grandchildren.

She is survived by her children:
Patricia A (Dr. Bruce) Birkby, of Lafayette, Colo.,
Christine M. (Jeff) Rauff, of Montoursville,
Marilyn E. (Gary) Kline, of Carlsbad, Calif.,
and Janice A (Joseph) Clark,
David G. Fink
and Thomas M. (Karen) Fink, all of this city.

She is also survived by 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Her husband, Francis D. Fink; her brother, Carl Bertin; and sisters, Lucille Steinbacher, Doris Moon and Barbara English, preceded her in death.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Boniface Catholic Church,
326 Washington Blvd.,
Williamsport, on Monday, May 19, 2014, at 9:30 a.m.
Her pastor, Msgr. Stephen McGough, will officiate. Friends may call at the church lounge on Monday morning from 8:15 to 9:15 a.m. Burial will be in St. Boniface Cemetery.
