Steven is survived by 4 children: Robert, Carley, Alec & Steven Jr. Pearson; mother: Phyllis Pearson; and brother: Ron (Kim Scianni) Pearson.
Steven was preceded in death by his daughter: Emily; father: Robert Dicks; and grandparents: George Dicks Sr. and Charles and Ann Pearson.
Steven was a carpenter by trade and member of the Carpenters Union Local #62 in Chicago Heights, IL; however, he was a skilled craftsman in all trades of work. He was a member of both St. Mary Catholic Church in Crown Point and the Knights of Columbus, Cardinal Stritch Council 4620. Steven volunteered his time and skill-set to rebuilding homes for Habitat for Humanity. He was a nature-lover, bird enthusiast and also enjoyed taking his sons fishing. Steven was also an avid Chicago Blackhawks fan.
Friends may visit with the family on Friday, May 16, 2014 at St. Mary Catholic Church, from 10:00 AM until the time of the funeral mass at 11:00 AM with Fr. Pat Kalich officiating. Inurnment will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery in Crown Point, IN.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to Diabetes Youth Foundation of Indiana.
