She was born Aug. 24, 1921, in Bernadotte, Ill., to Grover and Lena (Munson) Beaird. She married Henry F. Pickel Jr. on May 9, 1939, in Palmyra, Mo., and he preceded her in death on Oct. 27, 1981.
Surviving are her son, Terry (Janet) Pickel of Peoria; two grandchildren, Angela (Houston) Roberson Jr. and Staci (Greg) Pollard; four great-grandchildren, Grace M. Roberson, Houston "Trey" Roberson III, Adam G. Pollard and Abigail L. Pollard; one brother, William Beaird of Canton; and one sister, Charlotte Beaird of Hanna City.
Also preceding Audrey in death were her parents; her son, Larry E. Pickel; her grandson, Paul F. Pickel; four brothers; and five sisters.
Audrey worked at Caterpillar Tractor Company in the cafeteria.
She was a member of Northwest United Methodist Church in Peoria.
Audrey and Henry retired to Mountain Home, Ark., in 1975 and owned and operated a resort for eight years. Audrey returned to Peoria in October of 1989.
She enjoyed bowling and playing dominos and was an avid Cubs fan.
She volunteered at Proctor Hospital as a pink lady.
Services will be Friday, May 16, at 11 a.m. at Murphy-Sedgwick Memorial Home in Canton, where visitation will be from 9:30 to 11 a.m. The Rev. Randy Douglas will officiate. Burial will be in Howard Cemetery in Smithfield, Ill.
Memorials may be made to the Red Brick School House in Smithfield or her church.
