Ola was born in Camilla, Georgia on May 11, 1928, to the late Fred and Edna (Robinson) Covell. On Oct. 22, 1976, Ola married Anthony Leigeb in Midland. He preceded Ola in death on Jan. 13, 2011.
Ola was a member of the Sanford Eagles. She worked for Superfoods for many years, retiring in 1978. Ola had many hobbies, including sewing, crafts, craft fairs and making porcelain dolls that she gave to her children and grandchildren. She loved traveling with her children and grandchildren, especially to their cottage in Lake City. Ola really enjoyed her casino trips with her daughters and granddaughters.
Ola is survived by her daughters, Wanda (Vic) Howe of Hartland, and Sherry (Gary) Moe of Sanford; sons, Terry Lower of Sanford, and Jerry (Marla) Lower of Midland; step-daughter, Judy (Tom) Houghteling of Beaverton; grandchildren, Corey Lower, Sheila Ercolani, Scott Howe, Erin Badour, Taber Lower, Brynn Lower, and Cally Lower; nine great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Shirley Covell; and many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Hurtubise and Pam for their loving care.
Ola was preceded in death by her sisters, Winifred Mosher, and Lucille Bolsbey; brothers, Earl, Russell, and Ralph.
A memorial visitation will be held on Friday, July 8, 2011, from 4-7 p.m., at Smith-Miner Funeral Home, 2700 W. Wackerly. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider the Pardee Cancer Treatment Fund.
