Don graduated from Arsenal Technical High School in June 1966. In September of that same year he proudly enlisted in the United States Marine Corps to serve our country. He served one tour of his active duty in Vietnam where he received a Purple Heart.
Don retired from Eli Lilly and Company after 38 years of service. During his retirement he continued to enjoy completing projects for others, and for many years loved to fish and collect trains.
Donald is survived by the love of his life of 45 years, Susan McClary (Newkirk); two daughters , Betty Wendland of Shelbyville, Christina (Jeffrey) Felton of League City, Texas; two brothers, Dean (Alice) McClary of Greenfield, Dennis (Cathy) McClary of New Jersey; his sister, Diana (Thomas) Conner of Hartville, Ohio; five granddaughters and one great granddaughter.
Note: his original service information from Hendryx Mortuary New Palestine Chapel indicated burial at New Palestine Cemetery with Military Honors. However, actual burial found to be in Asbury Cemetery in Morristown.
