Obituary:
Martha Royer Weigle
June 30, 1918 - March 29, 2012

Martha Grace Weigle was born in Sabillasville, Maryland to Samuel T. and Martha Grace Royer. She was the 8th of 15 children and is survived by her brother Joe Royer of Thurmont, Maryland; and sisters Jeanne Koons of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania and Marjorie Rosenberry of Virginia.

Martha married the love of her life and her basketball coach, John I. Weigle. They left a living tribute of their love with their 8 children, 16 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.

Martha moved with her family from Maryland to San Diego in 1960. She established two restaurants and was well known for her delicious pies and cinnamon rolls.

She ran an impressive income tax business for 34 years and reluctantly retired at the age of 86, often worrying about how her clients would get along without her.

Martha was an avid sports fan, always rooting for the Chargers, Padres and Lakers, and she loved the horse races. She collected and restored antiques as evidenced in her beautiful home.

She was smart, spunky and wise. She believed "moderation in all things" was one of the keys to long life. Mom taught us all to love our family - even the extended branches and the "Ex's". Family was everything to her.

Martha is survived by her children; Bonnie Burrows Green of San Diego, Kathryn Nelson (Rodney) of La Mesa, Billie Mann (Arthur) of Alpine, Robin LemMon (Thomas) of El Sobrante, California and Michael Weigle (Laurie) of Maine. She is predeceased in death by her husband John and sons Jonathan (Gloria), George (Marnie) and Phillip (Lily).

Visitation will be on Monday, April 2, 2012 from 4 - 7 p.m. at Conrad Lemon Grove Mortuary (7387 Broadway - Lemon Grove, CA 91945). Cryptside Service is Tuesday, April 3, 2012, 11 a.m. at Greenwood Memorial Park (I805 & Imperial - 4300 Imperial Avenue - San Diego, CA 92113).

A special thanks to Sharp Hospice and Martha's personal caregivers for their love and dedication.

Martha was much loved and will be deeply missed.
