CRAIGSVILLE — Thelma Juanita Shiflett Woods, 78, of 140 E. Railroad Ave., Craigsville, passed away Friday morning, May 9, 2014, at her residence surrounded by her loving family.

Thelma was born Oct. 19, 1935, in Fordwick, to the late Gallant Shiflett and Dora Woods Shiflett. She was married to her loving husband, Gilbert Woods whom she married Jan. 7, 1954, a union that lasted 60 years. Thelma was a homemaker and a member of the Craigsville Holiness Church. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Kathy Woods of Craigsville; a son, Ricky Woods of Craigsville; three grandchildren, Crissy Tubbs and husband, Josh, of Wetumpka, Ala., Clint Woods and wife, Heather, and Beth Woods, all of Craigsville; six great-grandchildren, Grace, Rachel, Mariah and Sarah Tubbs and McKenzie and Landon Woods; a brother, William Shiflett of Craigsville; and a sister, Dolly Fridley of Staunton.

She was preceded in death by five brothers, Lloyd, Albert, Fred, Pat and Dewey Shiflett; a sister, Helen Wilcher; and a daughter-in-law, Hope Woods.

A funeral service will be at 2 p.m., Monday, May 12, 2014, at Craigsville Holiness Church with Brother Garey Wilson officiating. Interment will be in Craigsville Community Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Larry Wilcher, Garey Wilcher, Cody Wilcher, Charlie McLain, Hampton Cash and Daryl Gregory. Honorary Pallbearers will be Brothers of the Church.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Craigsville Funeral Home.
