Tosten, Evelyn (Grandma ET)

Evelyn (Grandma ET) Tosten, age 89, a Manitowoc resident, died early Thursday morning, May 8, 2014 at Shady Lane Nursing Care Center, Manitowoc.

Evelyn was born December 31, 1924 to the late Eliza and Raymond O'Neil. She attended Manitowoc schools and graduated from Lincoln High School in 1943. Her nickname was Peggy O'Neil. On January 17, 1947, Evelyn married Paul Stockmeier Jr. Evelyn and Paul enjoyed golfing together. He preceded her in death on August 28, 1970. Evelyn was employed by Sigman's Curtain Shop for many years. On July 1, 1972, she married Kenneth Tosten. They were married for 38 years. Evelyn and Kenneth spent many weekends at their cottage at Gitchee Gumee in Sturgeon Bay and enjoyed fishing and having the family up for vacations. Kenneth preceded her in death on May 1, 2011. Evelyn was a past member of the Rosary Altar Society at St. Boniface Church and a current member or St. Francis of Assisi Parish.

Survivors include daughters: Pauline (Dan) Burton, Jacqueline (Mike) Oostdyk and Darlene (Rick) Rydzewski. Her grandchildren are: Shane (Jennifer) Burton and their children Kayla and Conner, Christopher (Dr. Angela) Burton and their children Nigel, Norianna and Nadia, Beau (Nicole) Burton and their children Avery and Braden, Nicole (Nels) Higgins and their children Emily and Elliott, Jason (Jolene) Wilkens and their children Autumn, Carson, Kinley Jo and Bennet, Paul (Lindsay) Rydzewski and their daughter Rylie, Neil Rydzewski and his daughter Elba and Lee Rydzewski; step grandchildren include: Terry Oostdyk and her son Ruben and Andy (Piper) Oostdyk and their children Beck, Anders and Foster; one sister-in-law: Audrey O'Neil, and also other nieces and nephews.

Evelyn was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister-in-law: Orville (Marge) O'Neil and Leonard O'Neil; and three sisters and three brothers-in-law: Elizabeth (Robert) Meyer, Lucille (Steve) Kukoski and Eileen (Dan) Wergin. She was also preceded in death by one brother-in-law and his spouse: Donald (Joan) Tosten.

Private family services will be held with burial at Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
