Thomas Dale Dawson, 81, of Midland, Texas, Korean War veteran, died May 6, 2014.

He was a resident of Midland since 1957. Mr. Dawson retired from Permian Oil Company after over 30 years of employment.

He was born in Alpine, Texas in 1932.

His hobbies included radio controlled boats, radio controlled planes, model trains, and model building to include planes, helicopters and tanks.

He is survived from his first wife Verna, two daughters, Michele who is married to Wilfred and Linda who is married to Paul. Thomas Dawson also had two grandsons, Wesley and Galand, and one granddaughter Marisa.

His brother, Leslie and his wife Brenda, and three sister-in laws; Earline, Juanita and husband David, and Margaret and husband James. Mr. Dawson has one brother-in law, Joe and wife Katharine.

He is survived from his second wife Martha, sons Charles and wife Michelle, Glen and Michael and wife Kara. Daughter Brenda and fiancée Brian. He also is survived by 9 grandchildren Johnathan, Kristin, Glen Ray, Caleb and wife Amanda, Alyssa and husband Christian, Victoria, Garrett, Landrye and Ryder. And two great grandchildren Ierly and Vada. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by two wives, Verna and Martha, three brothers; Perry and wife Helen, John and wife Betty, Joe and wife Frances (still living). One sister, Wylette and husband Curtis, and his parents Edgar and Pearl Dawson.

Pallbearers are Wesley Crenwelge, Galand Crenwelge, Johnny Chaney, Richard Dawson and Daniel Ennis. Viewing will be from 6 to 8 PM Friday May 9, 2014 at Lewallen-Garcia-Pipkin Funeral Home.

Graveside Services will be at 11 AM Saturday, May 10, 2014 at Fairview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family would ask that you donate to the American Cancer Society or charity of your choosing.

The family wishes to convey their greatest gratitude to the EMTs, Midland police officers and Midland Memorial Hospital and all their staff involved in his care.
