She accepted Christ at an early age and continued to serve the Lord faithfully in His church. At the time of her death she was a member of the Nazarene Church at Adrian, Mo.
In February, 1901, she was united in marriage to Edward L. McCune, and six years later the young couple traveled for 28 days in a covered wagon to Cimarron county near Griggs, Okla., where they homesteaded a farm and lived there until 1935, when they moved to Bates county, Mo., living near Amsterdam and Adrian until her husband's death.
To this union were born six children: Lisle F. McCune, George B. McCune, Mrs. Lorene Wilson of Boise City, Mrs. Ida Mae Hunziker of Drexel, and two daughters who died in infancy. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1948, her son Lisle in 1950, three sisters and three brothers.
She was a kind loving wife and mother, dearly loved by her family and friends, and highly respected by all who knew her.
She leaves to mourn her passing her two daughters and one son, two sisters, Mrs. Grace Shipps of Lincoln, Nebr., and Mrs. Effie Blake of Oklahoma City; six brothers, George, Sam and James Vail of LaCygne, Kans., John of Buckley, Wash., and Elmer of Sheridan, Wyo.; 12 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held in the Baptist Church of Drexel Tuesday afternoon by the Rev. Bill Lothridge, Nazarene minister of Pleasanton, Kans., assisted by Rev. Harold Stephenson. Casket bearers were her grandsons. Burial was in the Sharon cemetery.
