Beverly Mae Schroeder, 90, of Waverly, Iowa, died early Friday morning, May 9, 2014, at the Tripoli Nursing Home, in Tripoli, Iowa.

Beverly was born in Oran, Iowa, on May 19, 1923, the daughter of Robert and Pearl (Staak) Goslin.

She was raised by her mother, Pearl, until Pearl's death, when Beverly was 7 years old. She then was raised by her Grandma Rozella Staack in Waverly, and graduated from Waverly High School in 1940.

On December 21, 1941, Beverly was united in marriage to Arlen H. Schroeder at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Waverly.

The couple lived on a farm near Tripoli, and moved to Waverly in 1946, after Arlen's discharge from the U.S. Army.

In 1947, the family moved to Hawkeye, where Arlen and Bev operated a restaurant. In 1962, they returned to Waverly.

Over the years, Beverly was employed by Miller's Cleaners, Infelts, Waverly Public Library and Irving School Library.

In May of 2013, Beverly moved to Tripoli Nursing Home.

Beverly was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Waverly. She enjoyed reading, doing word search puzzles, embroidery, and playing cards and games. But most of all, she enjoyed spending time and socializing with family and friends.

Beverly is survived by her son, Larry (Cindy) Schroeder, of Tripoli; daughter, Phyllis Hoth, of Cedar Falls; sister-in-law, Leota Napiecek; 6 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by Arlen on November 14, 1982, and her parents.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am on Tuesday, May 13, 2014, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Waverly, with Pastor Joyce Sandberg officiating. Burial will follow at Harlington Cemetery in Waverly.

Visitation will be held on Monday, May 12, 2014, from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at the Kaiser-Corson Funeral Home in Waverly.

Memorials may be directed to the family for later designation. Online condolences may be left at www.kaisercorson.com.
