Daughter of Paul Millard Adams and Sallie Richard Sitz Adams.

Genevive Adams Sanders, 86, of Dawson, Ala., formerly of Montgomery, passed away May 7, 2014, after a brief illness.
She was born August 29, 1927, in the Black Creek Community of Etowah County and moved to Montgomery with her husband Neal shortly after WWII.
She and Neal worked in the civil service, primarily at Maxwell Air Force Base, until their respective retirements. They were founding members of two mission churches in Montgomery: Memorial Heights Baptist Church and Catoma Baptist Church, in which she was an active member until she moved back to North Alabama in 2004.
In her final years, she was a member of Broadway Baptist Church in Rainsville, Ala.
Mrs. Sanders was preceded in death by her husband, Neal Sanders; her half sister, Marcelene Smith; and her two brothers, James Adams and P.M. Adams.
She is survived by her son, Dr. Calvin O. Sanders (Libby), of Dawson, Ala.; her daughter, Cynthia Watson (Ron) of McDonough, Ga.; one grandson, Beau Watson, McDonough, Ga.; two sisters, Ruth Bone Minton of Scottsboro, Ala., and Jo Cochran (Herbert), of Gadsden, Ala., and a number of nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 this evening at W.T. Wilson Funeral Home, Rainsville. Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday, May 10, 2014, at Black Creek Baptist Church, 170 Black Creek Road in Etowah County, Ala. There will be visitation for friends and family from 2 to 3 p.m. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery. Nephews will be pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to the Alabama Baptist Children's Home, P.O. Box 361767, Birmingham, AL 35236-1767.
