Charles Eugene Purdue, 82, of Seminole, died Tuesday (Jan. 3, 2006) at Bay Pines VA Medical Center.
He was born in Marion, Ill., and came here three years ago from Danville, Ill.
He married E. Marjorie Carroll on Aug. 2, 1949, in Morganfield, Kentucky.
He was a retired Metropolitan Insurance agent.
He was a Navy veteran of World War II.
He was a Mason and member of the American Legion and the Underwriters Club.
He was Baptist.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Edith M.; three sons, Patrick C., Seminole, Jeff M., Bellingham, Wash., and Eric C., St. Petersburg; a daughter, Debbie C. Smitley, Danville; six grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Sandra Lea Purdue and two brothers, Harry and Donald Purdue.
