Samuel was a surveyor in Roxbury, Ma.

Samuel and his son, Obadiah, became members of "The Susquehanna Company" and as owners of one right, or share, each, their names appear among the names of the grantees in the Indian deed of July 11, 1754. His son and grandsons figured prominently in Wyoming Valley Massacre of July 3rd, 1778. It was one of the first battles of the Revolutionary War and one of many later ones in which the British enlisted the aid of Indians and Tory's to fight for them.

OBADIAH GORE born 26 July 1714 died 10 January 1779 of smallpox in Wyoming, Pennsylvania. Married HANNAH PARKE born 3 Jul 1721. Died Sequin, PA 14 Aug 1804. They lost several adult children to the Wyoming Valley Massacre 3 July 1778.
HANNAH GORE born 20 December 1720 died 19 Mar 1810 Married SILAS BURROW of Stonington, CT. He died 19 April 1741 Married Nathaniel Gallup.
SARAH GORE born 15 January 1723 died 28 July 1743 Married ELIPHALET HOBART of Stonington, CT.
