Bastedo, Donald Lou Alexander, Kitch- ener, Ont.; University of Toronto, 1946, pediatrics. Died Sept. 1, 2006, aged 83. "Don was the beloved husband of Sally Caroline (Breithaupt), beloved father of Mary Louise of Richmond Hill, Paul Alexander (Ellen) of Huntsville, Frank Louis (Helen) of Mount Forest and James Donald (Brenda Hans) of Yel- lowknife and beloved grandfather of Clare, Patrick, Tim, Cecilia, Sonya, Pe- ter, Jacob, Jaya and Nimisha. Prede- ceased by his sisters, Dorothy and Jean Anne, both of St. Catharines and sur- vived by his brother Edgar (Ted) of Oshawa. After graduating from the Uni- versity of Toronto Medical School in 1946 and completing a residency in pe- diatrics at Sick Children's Hospital in 1950, Dr. Bastedo was a much loved pe- diatrician for countless children and their parents in Kitchener-Waterloo from 1950 until 1990. He was past Presi- dent of the Kitchener Rotary Club and founding member of the K-W Unitarian Church. A great pianist, he played piano at Probus Club and was an enthusiastic supporter of the K-W Symphony."
