MRS. W. GERTH FORMER RESIDENT DIED IN TOMAHAWK
Mrs. Emilie Gerth, aged 77 years, a former resident of this city, passed away Thursday, October 6, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. George Wetzel at Tomahawk, where she had resided since the death of her husband, William Gerth, in this city February 5, 1914.
Funeral services were held at Tomahawk, Friday afternoon, the Rev. R. G. Heddon, of the Congregational church officiating, and after the services the remains were taken to Chilton where services were conducted at 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon in the Reformed church, of which denomination the deceased was a faithful member. Interment was made in the Union Cemetery at Chilton.
Mrs. Gerth was born November 8, 1844. in Stockbridge, Calumet county. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Kuepper and resided with her parents in Stockbridge until her: marriage to William F. Gerth on November 10, 1863. After their marriage Mr. and Mrs. Gerth moved to Chilton, later moving to Plymouth and after residing there for some time, the family moved to Sheboygan where they spent the major portion of their married life.
Five children were born to them, two of whom preceded the mother in death.
Those surviving are Arno Gerth, of Denison, Texas; Mrs. William Jansen, of Green Bay and Mrs. George Wetzel, Tomahawk.
