Beverly "Teddy" Joyce Elsberry, age 73, of Boone, passed away Tuesday, May 6, 2014 at her home in Boone surrounded by loved ones.


Beverly was born on March 1, 1941 in Boone, Iowa, the daughter of Frank Ephraim and Marie Genevieve (Stotts) Ross.

Beverly graduated from Boone High School in 1959.

She was married to Donald Eugene Sherman until the time of his passing in 2009.

Beverly worked at Heinrich Envelope in Boone for 40 years. During her career she served as a printer operator, union steward and later served as a trainer and in the area of quality control until her retirement. After retirement, she worked at Hy-Vee Grocery Store as a cashier for 2 years.

Beverly attended Grace Community Church in Boone and was a member of the Red Hats of Boone.

She enjoyed cake decorating, candy making and sewing. She also enjoyed playing bingo and collecting figurines and antiques. She especially enjoyed conversation and being with her family. She was a member of several coffee clubs around town and enjoyed spending time with friends.

Beverly is preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 2009, her 2 sisters, Louise Woods and Faith King.

Beverly is survived by her son Shayne Farringer (Lisa) of Hickman, Nebraska; her son Kevin Farringer (Julia) of Hickman, Nebraska; her daughter Shannon King of Boone; her daughter Bobbi Disbrowe (Matt) of Boone; her son Chad Elsberry (Vikki) of Ames; her 12 grandchildren; her 7 great grandchildren; her 2 sisters Elizabeth "Tootie" Stumbo of Boone and Hope Linker of Burkburnette, Texas and several nieces and nephews.
