Mrs. Brungardt died Tuesday, Sept. 15, 1998, at her daughter's home in Garden City. She was born May 25, 1913, at Garden City, the daughter of Conrad and Clara (Leiker) Boxler. A lifetime Finney County resident, she attended schools in Holcomb.
On Feb. 6, 1934, she married Joseph Brungardt at Garden City. He died March 18, 1970.
She was also preceded in death by a son, Terry Brungardt; a daughter, Sylvia Brungardt; five brothers; four sisters; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
A homemaker, Mrs. Brungardt was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church. She enjoyed making dolls, quilting and crafts.
She is survived by three sons, Mike Brungardt and Kenny Brungardt, both of Garden City, and Harold Brungardt, Vancouver, Wash.; three daughters, Theresa Powell and Kathryn Gates, both of Garden City, and Beverly Combs, Deerfield; three sisters, Felicitas Goetz, Garden City, Jan Schult, Salina, and Angie Elston, Chandler, Ariz.; 31 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation hours are until 9 tonight and from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials are to St. Mary School Endowment Fund, in care of the funeral home.
