Danny Joe "Superman" Lyons, age 46 of Brandenburg, KY, passed away on Wednesday, March 19, 2014, at Norton Suburban Hospital after a valiant battle with lymphoma, MDS, and AML.
He was born October 9, 1967, in Hardinsburg, KY, son of the late Mary Lucille Bishop
and Thomas Estel Lyons. Also preceding him in death was his sister, Wilma Bennett,
and a niece, Cindy Bennett.
Danny was a member of St. John's Church and worked at Intersteel in Louisville, KY.
He is survived by his: wife, Judy Dowell Lyons; children, Christian (Becca) Lyons of
Virginia Beach, VA, Jacob and Roman Lyons of Brandenburg; sisters, Nancy (James)
Patton of Martin, KY, Doris (Jay) Price of Norwalk, OH, and Linda Helton of Brandenburg;
a brother, Neil (Gail) Lyons of Brandenburg; mother-in-law, Rita Dowell; and several
nieces, nephews, and bonus children.
Funeral Services will be held 2:00 P.M. Sunday, March 23, 2014, from the St Johns
Church in Brandenburg, with Father Kevin Bryan officiating. Burial will follow in the
St. George Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at the Bruington-Jenkins-Sturgeon Funeral Home Saturday,
March 22 from 3-9:00 P.M. EDT. Prayers will be held that evening at 6:00 P.M.
Visitation will continue Sunday morning at the funeral home from 9:00 A.M. until the
time of service.
