Lewis was the third of five children born to Lewis Cone More and Julia Florence Love More. He was raised at Beerston, a community in the Town of Walton, New York where his father was the owner and operator of a successful farm. Lewis graduated from the Michigan State Automobile School at Detroit, Michigan in 1923 and married to Mildred Rebecca Miller on 24 June 1924 at Oneonta, New York. They made their home first at East Walton in the household of Lewis' parents and worked on his father's farm. They relocated briefly, early in 1930, to Morris, New York where they resided in the household of Mildred's parents, Clayton L. Miller and Anna R. Webb Miller. Later that same year, they returned to Walton where Lewis was a creamery laborer. Sometime after that, they relocated to Rochester, New York where Lewis was employed by Eastman Kodak Company. Sometime after 1961, they relocated permanently to California near where their son, Robert, resided. Lewis and Mildred were the parents of four children; Robert Lawrence More, Charles Richard More, Florence Rosalia More, and Catherine Rebecca More. Lewis died at Auburn Convalescent Hospital.
