John Jacob Wise died yesterday at the home of his son George Wise, of Dakota, from neuralgia of the heart, with which he had been suffering for the past week.

He was born in Ashland county, Ohio, May 31, 1839. On august 12, 1860 he was married to Sarah Keen in Ashland county. Later he moved to Indiana, then Wisconsin and forty years ago came to Ridott township where he resided until the death of his wife last November. Since that time he has made his home with his son, George.

Surviving him are the following children; Mrs. Katherine Bokemeier, Mrs. Jennie Shockey, Mrs. May Neuschwander, Mrs. Ada Molter, Mrs. Dosia Spangler, Mrs. Ethel Fahr, George and Clyde Wise all of this vicinity and Mrs. Etta Hartwick, of Bagely, Minn. He also leaves twenty-six grandchildren and six great grandchildren and two sisters, Mrs. Kate Yocum and Mrs. Rebecca Swope, of Ashland county, Ohio.

The funeral will be held at 1 o'clock Friday from the home of George Wise and at 2 o'clock from the Youngs church Lancaster.

Rev. A. J. Michaels, of the First English Reformed church of Freeport, of which Mr. Wise was a member, will officiate. Internment will be made in Young's cemetery.
