She was born in Gaston County, daughter of the late Carl and Colleen Hamot. Anita was a member of the Crowder's Creek ARP Church, Gastonia and a Nobletts member of the Gaston County Shrine Club.
She is survived by her husband of 59 years, James A. Cox, Sr.; son, James A. Cox, Jr. and wife, Kathy; daughter, Susan Cox; grandchildren, James A. Cox III, Caitlin Cox, Carley Burgess Taylor; great-grandchildren, Landon and Tayler.
Funeral:Crowder's Creek ARP Church, 207 Crowder's Creek Church Rd., Gastonia, officiated by Rev. Charles Evans.
Interment:Crowder's Creek ARP Church Cemetery.
