Kerry Lynn Wilson passed away Friday, Dec. 10, 2010, at her home in Lewiston after a courageous three-year battle with ovarian cancer. Kerry Lynn was born June 3, 1963, in Missoula, Mont. to Gayle and Mildred McGarry.

She was a beautiful baby girl with dark hair and a big smile. She loved her big brother Bill. At age 6, she moved with her family to Lewiston and attended Webster Elementary, Jenifer Junior High and graduated from Lewiston High School in 1981.

Kerry was very sports-minded and started in the Lewiston logrolling program when she was just 9 years old. She loved to compete and rolled in the Ohio State Fair in 1979. She won third place in women's logrolling competition at the Lumberjack World Championship in Hayward, Wis., in 1989. In addition to logrolling, she enjoyed swimming and snow skiing.

After graduating from high school, she attended Lewis-Clark State College for a brief time with the hope of becoming a nurse.

On Oct. 5, 1984, she was married to Lawrence D. Wilson. Through the course of their 22 years in the military, they lived in Virginia, California, Fort Lewis, Wash., and Germany. They had three sons, Oliver, Michael and Brennen.

Kerry eventually returned to college and completed her degree to become a registered nurse in 2005. She absolutely loved her nursing jobs, working at Inova Fairfax Hospital in Virginia and then to occupational nursing for Medcor Inc. at Clearwater Paper in Lewiston and Hanford in Kennewick.

Kerry loved her family very much, particularly her kids, and nieces and nephews. She had several really close friends, especially her sister, Gayle Anne. She was excited to become a grandma in February to her first grandson, Daniel. He brought her much joy in the short time they had together.

She was a huge Seahawks and Mariners fan, and had some great opportunities to attend games with her family and friends. She cherished the great times she had with them.

Kerry, we love you, treasure all of our wonderful moments with you and miss you deeply.

Surviving her are her ex-husband, Lawrence; her three sons, Oliver and wife Katy, Michael J. and wife Loretta, and Brennen; parents Gayle and Mildred; brother Bill and wife Judy; two sisters, Gayle Anne and Beverly; her grandson, Daniel; and many nieces and nephews.

Kerry was preceded in death by two sisters, Brenda and Trina McGarry.

A special thank you from our family goes to Kerry's very good friend, Mary Ravage of Benton City, Wash., who was her main caretaker and our angel through Kerry's battle through and through.
