James Sr., Elon J. "Bud" Age 79, a resident of Naperville, IL since 1953, died Tuesday, April 8, 2014 at his home in Naperville. He was born October 13, 1934 in Linton, ND to John David James and Bernita Clara (nee Sikel) James. Elon John "Bud" James Sr. was born on his family's farm northeast of Linton, ND. He attended Omio Grade School and Linton High School, enlisted in the U.S. Navy at Great Lakes Naval Station and afterwards returned to Linton, ND. He married Isabel Vetter on February 27, 1953 and they moved to Naperville in 1953 where they raised their three sons, Lonny, Bobby and Johnny. Bud began his career at Moser Lumber Company in Naperville and worked there 44 years until his retirement in 1997. Isabel passed in 2007. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, working on small engines and family get-togethers. Grateful to have shared in his life are his wife, the late Isabel; his sons, Elon Jr. "Lonny" and Barb James of Warrenville, IL and the late Robert "Bobby" James and the late JohnJames; his grandsons, Elon III "Jesse" James of Oswego, IL and William "Billy" James of Benton, KY and a great-grandson, Deaglan James Ross of Benton, KY. Bud was the devoted son of the late John D. and Bernita C. (nee Sikel) James and the dear brother of Eleanor (Ralph) Nieuwsma of Strasburg, ND, Arlene (Arnold) Zoller of Linton, ND, Carole (the late Arnie) Baumiller of Hazelton, ND, Sharon James of Fargo, ND and the late Delores (the late Alvin) Sauter, the late Delda (Harvey) Reamann and the late Charles James; fond uncle of many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews and great-great-nieces and nephews. Memorial Visitation Saturday, May 17, 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. at Friedrich-Jones Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 44 S. Mill St., Naperville. Memorial services will follow Saturday, 4:00 p.m. in the funeral home with Rev. Duane Mevis officiating. Future Inurnment: Naperville Cemetery, Naperville.
