Charlene Yates, 76, of Webster City, died Sunday, September 15, 2013 at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines. Memorial services will be held on Friday, September 20, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, with Rev. Stephen Meyer celebrant. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be at Fosters on Thursday from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a scripture service at 7:30 p.m.

Charlene Rae Parrish, was born on December 16, 1936 in Woolstock, the daughter of Roscoe and Madaline Smalley Parrish. She attended schools in Woolstock and Webster City, graduating from Lincoln High. On September 1, 1956 she married Andrew Yates at St. Thomas Aquinas Church in Webster City. She was a life long resident of Webster City, working as a secretary for Social Services, Hemmingway-Meyers Law Firm and Larry Kayser Law Firm for 19 years.

She is survived by her husband, Andy of Webster City; her sons, Mark (Trudy) Yates Tim (Lisa) Yates, all of Austin, TX; daughters, Brenda (Mark) Call of Des Moines; Nancy (Mike) Keane of Webster City; grandchildren, Dustin, Drew, Devan, Andrew, Brett, Haley, Kortney and Ross; great-grandchildren, Hunter, Ethan and Dylan; sister, Shirley (Kenny) Voss of Jewell; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Joe (Sandy) Yates, Wendell (Ardys) Yates, Janet Yates, Kathy Yates, Verona Yates and Rita Manship, all of Webster City.

Charlene was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Church. She enjoyed her "coffee group" and spending time with her grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Weldon and sisters, Ione, Margaret and Dorothy.
