Walter Church, 85, of Sunnyside died Wednesday in a local hospital.
Mr. Church was born Jan 29, 1892 in Fleetwood, N.C. He attended school there and moved to Olympia in 1910. He married Anna May Strode in Montesano Dec 8, 1914. They came to the Yakima Valley in 1925 and farmed in Outlook, Sunnyside, Wapato and Prosser. They retired at Prosser and lived there until moving to Sunnyside in April 1977.
He was a member of the Sunnyside Valley Grange.
Survivors are his wife; one daughter, Mrs. Iris Murphy of Seattle, six sons, Clarence of Huntington Beach, Calif, Dale and Lyle, both of Daly City, Calif, Leslie of Milwaukee, Ore, Eldon of Bridgeport and Robeert of Sunnyside; two sisters, Mrs. Myrtle Strand of Burlington and Mrs. Callie Dekker of Yakima; 22 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
