Margaret Roy b. 12 July 1757 m. 3 Nov 1773 (New Jersey marriage record) Lawrence Stright (Straight, Streit, Strait, etc.) b. 10 Aug 1751 Bernards Township, Somerset County, New Jersey son of John Leonard Stright and Catherine Reimer. They removed to Sussex County, New Jersey as Lawrence received $9.30 on 27 Apr 1781 for providing a two-horse team for 3 ½ days during the American Revolution (certificate 530). On 5 Sept 1784 Lawrence Stright of Hardwick, Sussex County, New Jersey, purchased (B:223) 105 acres from Philip Dodderer, blacksmith, of Newton and Yanaka his wife. On 16 Oct 1790 Lawrence Streight of Newton, Sussex County, New Jersey, blacksmith and Margaret his wife sold (B:225) to Rev. Ira Condict, 105 acres. Both Lawrence and Margaret signed as Stright. They left New Jersey and journeyed across Pennsylvania and settled in Washington County near the Ohio border and were enumerated in Cross Creek Township in 1800.
