Margaret Roy b. 12 July 1757 m. 3 Nov 1773 (New Jersey marriage record) Lawrence Stright (Straight, Streit, Strait, etc.) b. 10 Aug 1751 Bernards Township, Somerset County, New Jersey son of John Leonard Stright and Catherine Reimer. They removed to Sussex County, New Jersey as Lawrence received $9.30 on 27 Apr 1781 for providing a two-horse team for 3 ½ days during the American Revolution (certificate 530). On 5 Sept 1784 Lawrence Stright of Hardwick, Sussex County, New Jersey, purchased (B:223) 105 acres from Philip Dodderer, blacksmith, of Newton and Yanaka his wife. On 16 Oct 1790 Lawrence Streight of Newton, Sussex County, New Jersey, blacksmith and Margaret his wife sold (B:225) to Rev. Ira Condict, 105 acres. Both Lawrence and Margaret signed as Stright. They left New Jersey and journeyed across Pennsylvania and settled in Washington County near the Ohio border and were enumerated in Cross Creek Township in 1800. Enumerated in Cross Creek Township, Washington County, Pennsylvania in 1800 as Laurence Strait with 4 males under age 10 (1791-1800) William, Amzi, Joseph, Peter; 1 male of age 10 and under age 16 (1785-1790) George; 1 male of 16 and under age 26 (1775-1784) Christian or Stephen; 1 male of age 45 and over (before 1755) Lawrence; 2 females under age 10 (1791-1800) Anna, Sarah; 1 female of age 16 and under age 26 (1775-1784) Catherine; 1 female of age 26 and under age 45 (1756-1774) Margaret. They removed north along the Ohio-Pennsylvania state line to Crawford County, Pennsylania and were enumerated in Shenango Township, Crawford County in 1810 as Lawrance Streight with 1 male under age 10 (1801-1810) Lawrence; 1 male of age 10 and under age 16 (1795-1800) Peter; 4 males of age 16 and under age 26 (1785-1794) George, William, Amzi, Joseph; 1 male over age 45 (before 1765) Lawrence; 1 female of age 10 and under age 16 (1795-1800) Sarah; 1 female of age 26 and under age 45 (1766-1784) Catherine; 1 female over age 45 (before 1765) Margaret. Lawrence d. prior to 1 June 1812 and Margaret is related to have d. 1817.
