William F. Van Meter, 68, of Mason, died Monday, March 9, 1987 in Pleasant Valley Hospital, Point Pleasant after a long illness. He was a retired miner. Surviving: wife, Luella F. Rayburn Van Meter; daughters, Mrs. Bonnie Durst of Cottageville, Mrs. Cheryl Jenkins of Philippi; son, Michael of Mason; mother, Mrs. Katie Van Meter of Mason; brothers, Winfield, Okey Jr., John, George and Jackie, all of Mason, James of Boston; sisters, Mrs. Eva Gibbs and Mrs. Rosalie Roush, both of Mason, Mrs. Flora Brewster of Logan; four grandchildren. Service will be 2 p.m. Thursday in Foglesong Funeral Home, Mason with the Rev. Benny Stevens and the Rev. George Hoschar officiating. Burial will be in Kirkland Memorial Gardens, Point Pleasant
