Funeral services were held Tuesday, Jan. 16, at Collins Oak Park Chapel in Winterset with the Rev. Bill Branson officiating. Burial was at Winterset Cemetery.
Mary Rhodes was born Sept. 12, 1912, in Madison County to Charles W. and Mabel Grace (DeVore) Hermon. A graduate of Winterset High School, she married Jess Albert Rhodes on Sept. 4, 1937, in Papillion, Neb. A homemaker, Mary spent most of her life in Madison County. She was a member of First Christian Church in Winterset.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, three brothers, and four sisters.
She is survived by five nieces, Marjorie Weeks of Winterset, Amanda Wren of Des Moines, Helen Callaway of Waterloo, Mary Lou Foley of Peru and Martha Wagner of Nashville, Tenn.; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
