Mitzi was born on December 28, 1959 to Mary Evelyn and Hartwell Ray Allen and was raised in Hall Summit, Louisiana. A graduate of Riverdale Academy, Mitzi spent much time working at the family store, Nettles Flower & Gift Shop and Huckabay Hospital and soon married Tony G. Scott. From this union came two beautiful children, Merrill Justin and Mary Jessica who meant the world to her.
Mitzi began her career at the Red River Paper Mill in 1983 and completed 28 years of service in the Power/Recovery Department, Paper Machine and Mill Service Crew before her retirement in 2011. She had many friends at the mill that she thought of as family.
Mitzi never seemed to meet a stranger and was always there with a smile to help someone in need. She loved trail rides, rodeos, dancing, fishing, camping and most importantly spending time with her family. She was a loving, dedicated mother, grandmother, sister and aunt.
She was preceded in death by her beloved son, Merrill Justin Scott and her parents, Evelyn and Ray Allen.
Mitzi is survived by her daughter that she cherished so much, Jessica Scott Norris and her husband T.W. Norris; five grandchildren, Raylynn and Bryce; Kaylynn, Raven and Kolby; one sister, Marcia Giddens and family; two brothers, Michael Ray Allen, his wife Georgia and family and Moochie Allen, his wife Nita and family; one uncle, Booney Allen his wife Kay and family; McKaylie, T.J. and Kayden Scott, much-loved siblings of Justin and Jessica and a very special friend and fishing buddy, Missy Alexander as well as other extended family and friends that were special in her life.
Honored to serve as pallbearers are nephews, Heath Giddens, Clint Giddens, Jared Allen, Bo Woodard and cousins, Charlie Brown Allen and T.J. Prejean.
Honorary pallbearers are nephew Miguel Allen and cousin Hunter Allen, T.J. Scott, Kayden Scott and Joe Wayne Buswell who was with her during her final act of kindness.
Following the memorial service, Mitzi will be laid to rest beside her son at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Hall Summit, Louisiana.
