Son of Joseph Sirum and Mary Long Nauman

"MOUND CITY, Mo.-John C. Nauman, 97, died Wednesday, at a Mound City nursing home.

Born on a farm near Craig, Mo., the son of Joseph Sirum and Mary Alice Long Nauman, Mr. Nauman had resided in Holt County all of his life. He was born on April 11, 1878 and was a retired farmer. He also served as a night watchman in both Fairfax and Mound City, and for many years was a police judge here. He was a member of the Pleasant View Presbyterian Church.

On October 2, 1907, he was married to Pink O. Bear of St. Francis, Kans., who died August 6, 1975. They were the parents of four children, Lillian, Melvin, Gordon and Verna Mae.

Mr. Nauman was one of a family of 14 children, all of whom preceded him in death with the exception of one sister, Mrs. Lena Clayton of Northview Manor, Tarkio.

Other include his two daughters, Mrs. Lillian Parr, Mission, Kan., and Miss Verna Mae Nauman, Kansas City, Mo.; two sons, Melvin Nauman, Hamburg, Iowa, and Gordon Nauman, Mound City, and a sister, Mrs. Lena Clayton, Tarkio, Mo.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 3, at the Pettijohn and Crawford Chapel here. The Rev. Clarence Smith will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Home Cemetery.

Pallbearers were David, Tom, Duane, H.J. and Maurice Nauman and Edwin Fuhrman.
