STATE HOSPITAL PAROLE INMATE ENDS OWN LIFE
Joseph Barlick, 25, residing on R. No. 8 in Deveraux Heights, shot himself to death shortly before noon yesterday as officers surrounded his home. They planned to return him to the state hospital at Jacksonville, which he left last Sunday. He was rushed in a Bisch and Son ambulance to St. John's hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Remains, taken to the Ellinger and Kunz funeral home, will be removed at 4 o'clock this afternoon to the residence, where services will be held Monday at an hour to be announced later.
Surviving are the parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Barlick, sr., four brothers, John, jr., Frank and Louis, all of Springfield, and Albert, Camuleata, Wash.; and one sister, Irene, Springfield.
